Ford Spark Plug ignition problems-broken and blow

Spark Plug Blow Outs.

Ford had a problem with the spark plug thread not holding spark plugs in his 4. 6, 5. 4 and 6. 8 engines for some time now. Aluminum heads are about five threads holding the spark plugs in place. If the thread failed to spark plug eject when he blows he can break the ignition coil that is placed on each piston. Ford does not recommend repairing the threads, they would be somewhat throughout the cylinder head to be replaced with a head of Ford. Beware of buying a head rebuilt due to the eruption being so common, chances are that the reconstructed head can have an insertion of repair that cannot exercise. Broken ignition plugs.

Ford has redesigned the cylinder head in 5.4 engines used in Ford trucks, expeditions, Mustangs etc. Unfortunately the new design has a different problem. To remove the spark plugs, these new 5.4 engines Ford that the spark plug can break letting a metal sleeve (shield electrode) in the spark plug hole. The chained exits, but the remainder stays behind and can be a real nightmare to extract.

Ford made a removal tool kit, the Rotunda 303-1203 to remove the spark plug sleeve when this break occurs. The Rotunda 303-1203 is a specialty tool that has been huge demand for many unsuspecting repair shops that were performing regular maintenance on your customer's vehicles. The TSB Ford describes how trying to avoid breaking, although the procedure produces less than desirable results.
